Detectives have issued CCTV images of three people officers believe could have vital information to assist enquiries into an assault outside a park in Knotty Ash.
Police were contacted by crews from the North West Ambulance Service at 9pm on Sunday 3 March following reports a 15 year-old boy had been assaulted outside Springfield Park and suffered superficial wounds to his hand and abdomen consistent with a bladed weapon being used. He was taken to hospital for treatment for his injuries.
Officers investigating the incident have already arrested three teenagers on suspicion of Section 18 wounding. A 14-year-old boy from Halewood, a 13-year-old girl from Belle Vale and a 13-year-old boy from Woolton have since been released on conditional bail.
Officers have now issued images of two females and a male who they believe could have information that could assist detectives with their enquiries.
Detective Inspector Phil Mahon said: “The use of knives and bladed weapons on our streets is completely unacceptable, and we will leave no stone unturned in our efforts to bring those responsible for this incident to justice.
“We have already made significant progress during this investigation, and we are calling on the public to help identify those pictured who may be able to assist us further.
“If you are the people pictured, or know who they are, please contact police.”
