School Fire: Weeks Before Re-opening

400 pupils evacuated after fire on roof of Leicester Primary School.

Leicester City council say it could be weeks - before a city junior school will be back open - after a fire on its roof earlier this week released asbestos into the building. 

The headteacher of Catherine Junior School is trying to orgainse it for nearby schools to take on pupils on a temporary basis.

400 pupils had to be evacuated following a fire on the roof of the school last week.

At it's height more than 40 firefighters were down at Catherine Junior School on Brandon Street in the city - there were no reports of any injuries.
