"Royal Beer" In Big Demand

Nottingham-based Castle Rock Brewery was forced to increase the amount of its special Kiss Me Kate beer after unprecedented interest.

The Royal Wedding is pulling in it's fair amount of novelty merchandise ahead of the big day, but the "Kiss Me Kate" beer from Castle Rock in Nottingham is catching the eye of some of the worlds biggest celebs.

ast month celebrity blogger Perez Hilton featured the beer on his website and since then the Nottinghamshire brewery has been inundated with request for bottles.

America Idol host, Ryan Seacrest, featured the beer on his daily entertainment programme E! News.

And Charlie Bromeley, Commercial Manager for Castle Rock, says the interest has grown and grown.

" CNN, Good Morning America, and lots of radio stations have all been in touch and then the Ellen Degeneres Show has been trying to get hold of the beer as well. She's (Ellen) a huge royalist and wants to come to the Royal Wedding and is upset she hasn't got an invite so by having our beer she thinks it might prompt them into sending her an invite."

They also said the get hundreds of request a week from people all over the world wanting to taste the brew but it's only available here in the UK.
