Capital's been told women in the East Midlands are resorting to prostitution so they can afford Christmas presents for their kids.
An outreach worker at the Nottingham charity POW says the numbers of women working in the sex trade rises as Christmas gets nearer.
Vicky, an outreach worker, told Capital there are some women she only sees in December:
'That's their choice. They're not being forced by some big man out there who's forcing them to get out on the streets and earn their money for their drugs.
'Some people make that choice, because I think sex is something that will always sell.
'They're working because that's their choice; they made need to pay their rent.
'You find that many women out at Christmas that you don't see all year and it's just because they need to buy presents for their kids.'
