A man who abused two young children in homes and woodland in Nottinghamshire for more than five years has been sent to jail.
Simon Stocken, 40, of Dallison Road, Hibaldstow, North Lincolnshire, was sentenced to five years and nine months in prison at Nottingham Crown Court on Friday 8 January.
His abuse began in 1989, when he first assaulted a girl when she was just six years old. He also assaulted a boy when he was just two. Stocken then continued to abuse the boy for five years.
Stocken was found guilty of one count of indecent sexual assault, seven counts of indecent sexual assault on a male, three counts of indecency with a child and one count of attempted burglary at the same court in November 2015.
DC Asif Majid, the officer dealing with the case, said: “I am pleased that the hard work of all the officers involved in this case has been rewarded with a good sentence.
"It is clear that Simon Stocken is a callous and dangerous individual and he will have a considerable amount of time to think about his actions.
"For the victims, I hope that seeing Stocken sentenced will start a long healing process."
