Man Dies After Being Hit By A Car In Derby

Two people have been arrested after a man's died in Derby.

Police say they were called to a disturbance yesterday lunchtime on Burton Road.

They say 33-year-old Kevin O'Connell was hit by a car during the disturbance and died from his injuries.

Two people are being questioned.

Derbyshire Police have issued the following statement to Capital: "Around 1pm on Saturday 25th October 2014 a disturbance occurred on Burton Road, Derby near to "Car Parts Direct".

"As a result of the incident a 33 year old man, Kevin O'Connell was struck by a passing car, Mr O'Connell sustained fatal injuries. Officers from the Collision investigation Unit, Ripley are currently investigating the circumstances.  

"Two people have been arrested as a result of the incident and are currently in Police Custody.  Anyone who may
have witnessed any part of the incident on Burton Road should contact Derbyshire Police on 101."
