Two people have been confirmed dead after a severe house fire in Kirby Muxloe
Two people have been confirmed dead after a severe house fire.
Firefighters, police and the ambulance service were called to Church Road in Kirby Muxloe, Leicestershire, at 3.50am on Friday.
Police confirmed a man and a woman died in the fire, but formal identification has not yet taken place.
A fire investigation dogs vehicle could be seen parked on an adjacent road and an aerial ladder was used to tackle the blaze.
Gas supplier Cadent also had vehicles near the property.
In a statement, a Leicestershire Police spokesman said: "We were called at 3.30am this morning by the fire service reporting their attendance at a house fire on Church Road in Kirby Muxloe.
"Officers and the ambulance service attended the scene.
"A woman and a man were pronounced dead at the scene."
The statement continued: "Formal identification of the deceased has not yet taken place.
"A cordon is in place and an investigation into the circumstances of the deaths is continuing."
