Lincolnshire Explosion

An explosion at an industrial estate in Lincolnshire has left five men dead and a sixth in hospital in Nottingham.

East Midlands Ambulance Service took a 999 call at 7.22pm last night to go to an address on Broadfield Lane in Boston.

Lincolnshire Police spokeswoman Nerys McGarry says they don't know what happened:

"It's apparent that it was a very rapid and sudden explosion as opposed to a long drawn out fire.

"Clearly we have a lot of work to do over the forthcoming hours to establish what happened at this place."

Police haven't confirmed reports the men were brewing alcohol illegally.
