Gunshots heard in Notts

Police investigating a firearms incident in Nottingham on New Year's Day - want to speak to 50 people who were at a party nearby.

Shots were heard in Alfreton Road in Radford - no-one was hurt.

DI Leigh Sanders, who is investigating the incident, said: "We have carried out a full forensic search of the scene and are keen to speak to anyone who was either in the area at the time or who attended the nearby party.

"We believe people left the flat shortly before the firearm was discharged both on foot and in vehicles and we would urge them to contact us."

A cordon was in place around Alfreton Road at the junction with Hartley Road, Addington Road and Wimbourne Road. This has since been lifted.

There is nothing to suggest that this incident is linked to the shooting in St Ann's on Boxing Day.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 0300 300 9999 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
