Fears Over Closure Of Women's Hostel

A City Council spokesman said: “We have received significant cuts to our Government grants across the board including Supporting People which we relied on more than most, as we serve some of the most disadvantaged communities in the country. We have set a budget of £15m for Supporting People for 2011/12 and we are looking to add extra funding to this to lessen the impact on voluntary groups and those they support. Unfortunately, we cannot comment further as we are currently subject to a legal challenge.”
