Capital's spent time with East Midlands army bomb unit.

At an early morning call down at their Nottingham barracks, we caught up with the Nottingham Troop, 721 EOD Squadron RLC, who told us every day is different and you never know what you're going to be doing hours after waking up.

The team can be called out up to three times a day to investigate scaffolding poles, un-attended suitcases to big World War Two bombs and grenades which have been dug up in back gardens, the team of 19 can be called out to anything.

They cover the whole of the East Midlands and even go out to calls in Birmingham and up to Leeds.

Hear our chat with Captain John Franklin to find out what he loves about his job and how we can help make his job easier.
