Cannabis Factory Raided

Cannabis worth over £60,000 has been recovered from an address in Beeston Rylands.

Officers raided an industrial unit in Lilac Grove at around 8.30am Friday 4th February after receiving information that drugs were being grown at the property.

Police discovered more than 130 cannabis plants, some of which had grown to over 7ft tall.

Specialist growing equipment was also discovered, including high-intensity lighting.

Police have carried out forensic examinations and house-to-house enquiries as part of the ongoing investigation.

Beeston Sgt Steve Robinson said: “This discovery shows how important it is for the public to report any signs of suspicious activity.

“On this occasion we found a sophisticated cannabis grow of over 100 large plants, which have a street value of around £65,000.

“I would urge anyone who knows the people behind this cannabis cultivation, or spots any suspicious activity, to call the police or Crimestoppers so we can deal with it immediately.”
