A West Midlands teenager arrested on suspicion of Syria-related terrorism offences has been released on police bail.
The 18-year-old, from Stourbridge, near Birmingham, was arrested yesterday at an address in Lye by West Midlands Counter Terrorism officers in a pre-planned operation.
Officers later seized computer equipment from his home address for forensic examination.
A West Midlands Police spokesman said: "The action was pre-planned and intelligence-led and police are keen to stress there was no immediate threat to public safety.
"The man - arrested on suspicion of preparing for terrorist acts, contrary to Section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006 - has been bailed until a date in July when he will return for further questioning.''
The man has surrendered his passport and must abide by an overnight curfew while on bail.
