Two women have been arrested in the Walsall area on suspicion of Syria-related terrorism offences.
In a short statement, West Midlands Police said the suspects, aged 23 and 33, were detained at their homes.
The younger woman is being held on suspicion of preparing for acts of terrorism, a spokesman said.
The second woman was arrested on suspicion of failing to disclose information.
Both arrests were made by officers from the West Midlands counter-terrorism unit and the women are being held at a police station in the force area.
