Terror Charges Dropped Against Birmingham Woman

The case against a Sparkhill woman accused of funding terrorism in Syria has been dropped after medical reports.

Gerrie Tahari will not be charged for supporting terrorism overseas as prosecutors have decided it is no longer in the public interest to bring action against her.

The 45 year old's trial was going to start in September but was adjourned for medical reports.

After looking at these reports, the CPS has decided that the case will not carry on.

A Police statement said: “All cases are continually assessed by the CPS and police to ensure that the right and proper course of action is undertaken in the interests of justice. In this case it is clear it was not in the public interest to continue."

No further evidence was presented against her during a hearing at the Old Bailey.
