Armed officers acting on intelligence made three arrests at 3am

Three men are being questioned by West Midlands Police after armed officers found a revolver in a car they stopped in West Bromwich.

The investigation at 3am on Monday in Hollyhedge Road in the Black Country was based on intelligence.

An 18, 22 and 23 year old, were arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and remain in police custody.

DCI Ronan Tyrer, from the Regional Organised Crime Unit, which is leading the investigation, said: “This is a great recovery and shows our determination to tackle gun crime around the clock.

“Guns cause untold misery in communities. It’s vital that people who have information on those who use or have access to guns give us the information we need so that we can continue to bring criminals to justice.”
