Post Mortem After Woman Murdered In Birmingham

Capital's been told a woman who was murdered at her home in Birmingham died of head injuries.

A post mortem has been carried out into the death of 67-year-old Anne Dunkley.

She was killed on Friday afternoon (June 5) following a disturbance at her home in Elmdon Road, Marston Green.

West Midlands Police were called to the address at 1.22pm by a neighbour who had reported a disturbance. 

On arrival, officers found a woman seriously hurt on the floor and a man with injuries to his face. 

Both were taken to hospital. The 38-year-old man has now been discharged following treatment. 

A 24-year-old man was arrested shortly after the attack nearby. He continues to be questioned by detectives. 

Detective Inspector Martin Slevin from Force CID said: "Enquiries are on-going into what happened yesterday in Elmdon Road. Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident."
