Police are questioning a 52 year-old man after the discovery of a body in West Bromwich.
A 26 year-old woman was found in a house on Chapel Street just before 11.30am on Friday (28 August).
She's not been formally identified, but a post mortem examination has taken place.
Detectives say they have been following several lines of enquiry and have a suspect in custody.
Detective Inspector Martin Slevin is one of those working on the case for West Midlands police.
He said: "At the moment it remains unclear exactly when this incident happened and our investigation is on-going.
"We're appealing to anyone who has seen any suspicious activity in Chapel Street this week to contact us as soon as possible on 101.
"A man has been arrested but our investigation is still in the early stages and we want to hear from anyone who can provide information that could help us."
