Men Left Hospitalised After Two Separate Shootings In Birmingham

Two men are being treated for life changing injuries after separate shootings in Birmingham.

A 22-year-old was shot in his thigh in an alleyway in Bordesley Green.

It happened between Alum Drive and Belchers Lane, at around 8.30pm on Friday.

Chief Inspector Helen Bailey from Birmingham East Neighbourhood Policing Unit said: “We are investigating to find out exactly what happened and are appealing for anyone with information which might assist us to get in touch as soon as possible.” 

Meanwhile - a 21-year-old was injured after shots were fired in Handsworth.

The man suffered a wound to his hip in Soho Road at around 2.30pm on Friday and is currently being treated in hospital.

Detective Inspector Vanessa Eyles from Force CID, said: "Investigations remain underway to establish the circumstances around what happened and how this man came to receive this nasty injury.

"We will not tolerate anyone being shot and we are determined to catch whoever was responsible. I would urge anyone with information which can assist us to get in contact as soon as possible."

CCTV is being looked at in both cases.
