Man Stabbed In Neck With Glass Bottle

Police have released CCTV images after a man was stabbed in the neck with a glass bottle in a Birmingham city centre bar.

The victim was in the Tap and Spile on Gas Street when an argument broke out with some men he had been talking to in the early hours of 13 January.

As the disagreement became aggressive, he was struck over the head with a bottle which then broke and was thrust into his temple, leaving him with an injury that required seven stitches.

The 31-year-old was hit three or four times by his attackers, between 12:30am and 1am, who then fled the scene.

Investigating officer DC Sarah McDonnell, from Force CID, said: "It appears this may have been an unprovoked attack which has left the victim with very serious injuries.

"We're keen to speak to everyone in the images and I would urge them, or anyone who recognises them, to come forward and speak to us. It may be that they were simply witnesses to the attack, but we need to establish everyone's versions of the events on that night.

"Thankfully the victim made a speedy recovery but we need to find the people responsible.''
