A man's been jailed for 30 years after he shot a man in the back in Birmingham leaving him paralysed.
Aidan Harris-Bennett got into an argument at a takeaway in Babington Road in Handsworth back in October 2013.
He threatened three men who were ordering food so they decided to leave. But as they got in a car Harris-Bennett followed they with a knife.
He tried to attack the 27-yea-rold victim but he got away and a second attacker appeared with a gun. They shot the 27-year-old as he tried to run away.
The men fled and in hospital their victim had to have surgery to remove a lung and will probably never walk again..
Police couldn't find Harris-Bennett for 6 months but when his picture was put up on Crimewatch he was caught in May 2014.
He's been found guilty of attempted murder at Birmingham Crown Court and sentenced to 30 years in jailed and will have to serve a minimum of 15 years.
Detective Constable Sarah Lacey said: "It appears that Harris-Bennett called upon a friend to assist in a trivial argument, but the consequences have left an innocent man facing the rest of his life in a wheelchair, having suffered horrendous injuries.
"Harris-Bennett will now face a substantial prison sentence for an argument that could so easily have been avoided."
A 22-year-old man was arrested and charged with attempted murder but was found not guilty following a trial at Birmingham Crown Court last year.
