A murder investigation was launched following the death of Amarjit Singh Rai on Thursday 2 May, who was found with serious wounds on Gillott Road.
A post-mortem revealed he died as a result of multiple injuries.
The 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder at the scene and was transferred to a secure mental health facility after being deemed mentally unfit for questioning.

"His loss is greater than words can express and the tragic way he has been taken away will leave a lifetime of wounds.
"He was a much respected businessman, who was also very giving to all he met.
"We would also like to thank the public for their support in helping the police enquiries."
