Detectives investigating the fatal stabbing of a man in a Birmingham street have charged a factory worker with murder.
41-year-old Abdul Khaya has been charged with murdering father-of-two Bile Mohammed Siyad in Coventry Road, Small Heath, in the early hours of Saturday morning.
It’s alleged Khaya, who lives in Bankes Road near the murder scene, stabbed the 41-year-old in the head with a knife following a dispute over money.
Mr Siyad was treated by paramedics following the 5am attack but later died in hospital.
West Midlands Police has released a photo of the victim and a tribute on behalf of his family who described him as a “wonderful, hard-working man” who was well respected in the community.
The tribute reads: “Bile was a wonderful man, loved by his family especially his two children; he was hard-working and well-respected in the community. His loss has devastated all who knew him and we would like to be left alone in our grief as we pull together as a family.”
Abdul Khaya is set to appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court.
