Police have arrested a man after a machete attack in Birmingham this morning (Monday)
The victim, a 50-year-old man, is now in hospital with serious injuries after he was stabbed on Tile Cross Road just after 8.10am.
Officers say shortly after it happened, a 29-year-old was arrested and is now being questioned on suspicion of assault.
They now want to speak to another man who was seen to run from the scene and drive off in a blue BMW.
Detective Inspector Caroline Corfield, from Force CID, said: “This was a nasty attack that happened in a busy area in broad daylight this morning.
“We’ve already had several witnesses come forward and I’d ask anyone else who has information about what happened to contact us as soon as possible.
“At this early stage we believe this to have been a targeted attack. This kind of violence will not be tolerated and we need your help to bring those responsible to justice.”
They want witnesses to come forward and contact them on the non-emergency number 101.
