Man arrested over attack on pregnant woman in Birmingham.
The victim was punched in the stomach while she was waiting for the bus in Harborne on February 22nd.
Earlier that night, around 8pm, a woman clung on to her handbag when a thief tried yanking it from her shoulder in Harborne High Street.
The man arrested is also being questioned over a number of other handbag snatches in Birmingham and the Black Country.
In between the two Harborne robberies a woman also reported her bag having been stolen by a man in Halesowen Street, Oldbury.
A 37-year-old woman – arrested by West Midlands Police officers on Wednesday night from her Oldbury home – appeared in court this morning in connection with the robberies.
It’s alleged Carrie Lewis, from Hollyoake Close, acted as a driver for the bag-snatcher and ferried him to and from offence locations.
Lewis appeared before Sandwell magistrates this morning charged with three robberies and one count of theft.
She was granted bail – with conditions including an overnight (7pm till 7am curfew) – and is next set to appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on March 30.
