Karl Swift Halesowen Murder

Police have arrested five men from Yorkshire over the death of a man found in the Black Country.

33-year-old Karl Swift was found with head injuries in New Road in Halesowen after what police think was a row at the Wetherspoons on Friday 9th September.

He was taken to hospital where he died from his injuries the following day.

Four men aged 58, 51, 29, another man aged 29, all from Sheffield and a 23-year-old man from Rotherham were arrested on suspicion of murder.

Senior investigating officer, Detective Inspector Paul Joyce from West Midlands Police’s Homicide Team, said: “The arrests this morning are a significant development in the investigation, but we are still keen to hear from anyone who was in the area on Thursday 8th September into the early hours of Friday morning.

“We still believe there may have been an incident at the William Shenstone Wetherspoons pub in Halesowen prior to Mr Swift leaving."
