Eighth Man Arrested In Birmingham Over Nightclub Murder

Police investigating the murder of an 18-year-old in at a nightclub have arrested an eighth person in Birmingham.
Daniel Kirkwood was stabbed in the neck at the Society nightclub, Tower Street, Coventry, in the early hours of Sunday 15 March.
He was found collapsed outside the venue at around 2am. He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Another 18-year-old man suffered a stab wound to the back, while a 17-year-old lad was also slashed across the arm with a knife. Their injuries are not life threatening.
A 25-year-old, the eighth to be questioned, was detained at around 10.50pm on March 16 on suspicion of his murder.
Three other men, aged 18, 22 and 24, are still being questioned after magistrates granted them a further 36 hours to keep them in custody.
Four others, have been released on police bail while enquires continue.
Detective Chief Inspector Sam Ridding, from West Midlands Police Homicide Team, said: "A young man has tragically lost his life while enjoying a night out at a club with friends.
"We are investigating what led up to the attack and why anyone would want to kill Daniel.
"As part of our enquiries we want to hear from anyone who was at the Society club on Saturday night, or who was in the area and may have seen something."
