Police have released an image of a couple they're looking to trace after a young clubber was attacked, leaving him with a bleed on the brain, at the Arcadian.

The 21-year-old had been enjoying a night out with his girlfriend and another young woman last month.

The victim, from Boldmere, had been on the dancefloor in Levana Bar in the early hours of Friday March 27 when he exchanged words with another man and others in his group.

He was then punched in the jaw, causing him to fall to the floor and bang his head.

He was knocked unconscious and, on arrival at hospital, was found to have a bleed on the brain, a fractured skull and a broken jaw.

The attacker is a white man, with brown hair and stubble or a slight beard. He wore a dark coloured zip up top and was in the company of a blond haired woman.

Detective Sergeant Gregory Evans, from the violent crime team of Force CID in Birmingham, is leading the inquiry.

She said: “We urge anyone who recognises the couple captured on CCTV to call us as soon as possible.

“The young man’s injuries were quite serious and he needed significant hospital treatment for his injuries, from which he continues to recover.

“It could be that the offender didn’t realise the extent of injuries caused by his victim and we urge him to come forward to police to assist our enquiries."
