Businesses In Dudley 'Forced To Close' Over Anti-Mosque Protest

Capital's been told businesses in Dudley are losing out on hundreds of pounds cos they feel they have to shut for their own safety when another anti-Islamic protest happens this weekend.

It's over plans to build a so called 'mega mosque' in the town.

Loads of shops and restaurants didn't open when a similar one happened last month.

Local businesses have told us the frequent protests lead to Dudley becoming a "ghost town" because people don't wan't to visit.

One cafe manager claimed to have lost £800 worth of takings when they shut due to the Britain First march last month - adding he understood the term 'freedom of expression', but would prefer any marches to take place on Sundays when most businesses are shut anyway.  

Others told us the impact on trade lasts much longer than the business day itself - because people are put off visiting the town weeks after the marches take place.
