Birmingham hosts Conservative Party Conference

A large Security operation is swinging into action as the Conservative party conference comes to Birmingham.

It's the third time the event has been held at the ICC. It runs from Sunday the 7th October and culminates with Prime Minister David Cameron's speech on Wednesday the 10th October.

More than 13,500 delegates will be there.

The mall through the ICC will be closed to the public throughout the conference. The area around the building, including Centenary Square, the Hyatt Regency Hotel and the section of Broad Street closest to Paradise Forum will see some changes to access for traffic, with anti-government protests also expected on some days.
