Five men have been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting in Lee Bank last month.
Anthony Sargeant, aged 33, was shot at from a car in Rickman Drive, Lee Bank just before 9:45pm on Saturday 25 August.
He was taken to hospital with a gunshot wound, but sadly did not survive the injury and died six days later. A post mortem examination confirmed he died of a gunshot wound.
Four local men aged 19, 21, 23 and 29 were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder and one man, aged 21 was arrested on suspicion of murder. All have been released with strict police bail conditions while enquiries continue.
Detective Inspector Justin Mason-Spanner, from the homicide team, said: “These arrests are a development in this murder enquiry but we continue to work hard to establish what happened to Anthony.
“I still need to speak to anyone who has any information who has not already spoken to us to come forward. Not matter how insignificant it may seem, it could be vital to the investigation.
