Officers are appealing for information after a woman was seriously injured in a hit and run collision in Halesowen.

The 52-year-old pedestrian was struck by a blue Audi on Long Lane at around 8.30pm on Friday 23rd November.

She was rushed to hospital with a head injury where she remains in a serious but stable condition.

The driver of the Audi fled the scene.

A 27-year-old was later arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of a collision and later released pending investigation.

PC Mathew Leeming from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: "Enquiries are on-going to trace the blue Audi A3 which was displaying the number plate VF04FYK at the time.

“We know that the vehicle will have sustained damage to the windscreen which may now have been repaired. I would appeal to local garages or windscreen repairers to contact me if they have seen a vehicle like this with similar damage.

“I also want to appeal to local residents to keep an eye out and to get in touch if they see an abandoned vehicle that matches this description."
