Anti-terror police have been given more time to question three men from Birmingham over Syria-related terror offences.

The trio were arrested in Dover last Friday in the departure area of the port on Friday 3 April.

The men have until next Friday 17th April to charge or release the suspects, who are all in their 20s.

They were part of a group of six that were arrested by West Midlands Counter Terrorism Unit.

Two of the other men suspected of terrorism offences have been handed over to immigration authorities for further investigation.

A woman arrested was released without charge.
