Investigations are underway after 2 men were seriously assaulted in Sheffield.
It happened on Holly Lane in the city centre in the early hours of this morning, the 24 year old men were attacked and were left with multiple injuries, they're both recovering in a Sheffield hospital where their conditions are described as serious.
The two men, along with one of their girlfriends were walking through the city from Cambridge Street, along Holly Lane, towards West Street. The first man was assaulted by another male and then the second man went to help and he too was assaulted but by a group of males.
The group of males then walked away towards Barkers Pool.
Acting Detective Sergeant Andy Shaw said:
'This attack on the two friends was vicious, sustained and we believe, unprovoked. They were punched and kicked repeatedly whilst laid on the ground. The families of these men are understandably very upset and I urge anyone with information to please come forward.'
The suspects are described as black or mixed race, aged in their early to mid-twenties and of medium builds.
