Boat Show Gets Underway

The forty fifth PSP Southampton Boatshow starts today.

More than a hundred and twenty thousand visitors will be heading to Mayflower Park on the city's waterfront over the next ten days. 

Boats available to buy range from tiny dinghies to multi-million pound Sunseeker super yachts. 

Adventurer Bear Grylls will be among the celebs visiting. 

But Managing Director Murray Ellis wouldn't tell us the names of any others. He said: 

''There'll be sport celebrities and celebrities from film and theatre. 

I'd like to think we'll have a long list and Formula One drivers are always seen around the show plenty of times.'' 

He added: 

''We've got some major powerboats that are in excess of ten million pounds. 

There are also some multi-million pound yacts, as it's not just about power, it's about sail as well.''
