Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault on a 15-year-old boy out walking with his girlfriend.
The incident happened on Sunday, September 25, at 9.15pm outside Hadrian Road Metro Station, on North Terrace in Wallsend.
The teenager was kicked and punched by a man who then made off from the scene. A member of the public came to his aid and he was taken to North Tyneside General Hospital where it was found he had suffered a fractured shoulder blade.
The offender is described as a white male with a shaven head, stocky build wearing casual clothes. He ran off towards the High Street area.
Police are carrying out enquiries into this incident and are appealing for anyone who was in the area at this time and who may have seen or heard anything suspicious to contact Detective Constable Dave James at North Tyneside CID.
