Whitefield Abandoned Baby Probe Woman Released on Police Bail

A 28 year old woman arrested on suspicion of hiding a birth has been released on Police bail.

She was arrested on Wednesday night, after police were told a girl had given birth and left the baby wrapped in a bag near Owd Betts in Rochdale Road, Edenfield on Tuesday.

Officers discovered a carrier bag with human blood inside it, along with a white knitted blanket  and a purple size 12 female top. But no baby or foetus was found.
