Salford: Shopkeeper Threatened With Knife

A CCTV image of a man wanted for a knifepoint robbery in Salford has been released by the police.

A shop assistant had a knife held to her chin at Farmfoods, on Market Way, just after 7pm on November 28th 2012.

The robber, who's described as 'very pale' and in his mid-20s, made off with just £20.

Detective Constable Paul Reynolds said: "Unless you yourself have been a victim of this sort of violent crime it would be impossible to imagine the distress this woman felt with a knife pressed to her chin - and all for just £20.

"That means we are looking for a very desperate individual who may strike again if he is so badly in need of money.

"I would therefore ask people, in particular shops and retailers in the local area, to look closely at the two CCTV images and if you think you see this man coming into your shop or business premise, then please call police immediately."

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 0161 856 5250 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
