A woman has been struck by a police car in Nottingham.

The Nottinghamshire Police vehicle was responding to an emergency call at the time.

Derby Road has been closed in both directions between its junctions with Lenton Boulevard and Park Street, police said.

Nottinghamshire Police remain at the scene following the collision, which happened just after 10.30pm on Thursday.

The pedestrian has been taken to hospital but the extent of her injuries are not yet known.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area while police investigate the incident.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage is asked to call police on 101, quoting incident number 1183 of 25 July 2019.
