Man left with head injuries after he was hit by a bike lock in Carlton Road.
Nottinghamshire Police are asking shoppers if they witnessed a man being attacked in a supermarket car park in the city.
The victim has been left with head injuries after he was hit several times with a D-ring bike lock outside Lidl in Carlton Road at around 4.15pm on Friday.
A 37-year-old man has been arrested and questioned in connection with the assault and has been released on police bail.
