The 'Turn Up The Music' singer posts a message saying social media detracts from what makes an artist special.
Chris Brown has made his Instagram profile private following an alleged altercation with fellow musician Frank Ocean this past weekend.
The 'Don't Judge Me' singer is said to have got involved in a tussle with Frank in a parking lot in West Hollywood and has yet to directly address the accusations.
Yesterday (29th January), he posted a picture of himself in the studio saying he wanted to stay clear of "negativity" and concentrate on a new album.
One of his last public Instagram posts read: "Social media takes away the essence of why we are even special or icons. So with that, I'm detaching myself from that world."
The singer has also been spotted for the first time following the incident yesterday afternoon sporting a cast on his right hand.
He has also caused a stir with a post of Jesus on the cross claiming it symbolized how he was feeling after the apparent incident.
Meanwhile, Chris is expected to perform on stage with Rihanna at next month's Grammy Awards and has been working on a new collaboration with the Bajan star.
