Fly Tippers Ruin School Garden

Fly-tippers have wrecked a school's garden, which the pupils had only just finished giving a makeover.

Rubbish, including car parts, electrical items, drills and a saw, were dumped in the grounds at Cliffdale Primary in North End, in Portsmouth, over the weekend. The junk was thrown over the school's fence.

The children had just finished clearing the area and creating disabled access to the pond.

Children as young as three use the school and headteacher, Alan Pratten, told Heart it’s lucky a child wasn’t injured. He said:

“I’m just really sad and quite angry that the work of my staff and the work of the children has not been valued by the outside community. Other people in the neighbourhood must have seen a large lorry pull up and empty this rubbish into the school. If the children had picked anything up or fallen on something it would really have been a danger.”

The council has now cleared the mess up.
