The 'Scream' star has been receiving prayers from celebrities on Twitter following the news of the incident.

Usher's 11-year-old stepson Kyle Glover has reportedly been left "brain dead" following a boating accident in Atlanta, Georgia this weekend.

According to gossip site TMZ, doctors made the assessment after the youngster had "not experienced any brain activity since he was admitted to the hospital."

Kyle was struck in the head by a passing jet ski while riding on an inner tube on Lake Lanier in Atlanta on Saturday (7th July).

Another friend was also apparently admitted into the hospital after suffering injuries during the same incident.

Kyle is the stepson of the R&B star with his estranged wife Tameka Foster.

Music mogul and close friend Russell Simons took to his Twitter account to offer his prayers to the singer and his family.

"Praying that Usher and Tameka's son is OK..." he tweeted.

The star split with Tameka in 2009 and the pair have two sons together Usher Raymond VI and Naviyd Ely Raymond.

Meanwhile, Usher's album 'Confessions' achieved a new landmark this past week after it was revealed the record had now sold over 10 million copies in the US.

Usher will be heading to the UK at the beginning of September to open the iTunes Festival 2012.
