The 'Climax' star speaks to Capital before tonight's ceremony in Los Angeles.

Usher has spoken to Capital ahead of the MTV Video Music Awards 2012 this evening (6th September) to offer his praise of British stars The Wanted and One Direction.

The 'What Makes You Beautiful' stars will go head to head with the R&B star's close associate Justin Bieber on the night with The Wanted also facing off against the Canadian's signee Carly Rae Jepsen.

Usher works closely with both acts managers, Scooter Braun – who has also helped with The Wanted during their time in the US this year.

Asked if he had any split loyalties on the night, the 'OMG' star admitted everyone is a winner regardless of the outcome.

"I wish everybody that's there well," he confessed. "Although there cannot be four winners – there are no losers.

"The fact that their fans voted for them, the fact they put out great music – you know, hey."
