Even a social media campaign to get AC/DC's 'Highway To Hell' to number one wasn't enough to topple Pharrell – who recorded his track for the soundtrack to the movie 'Despicable Me 2'.

There were also places for One Direction's 'Story Of My Life' as well as Eminem's 'The Monster' and 'Trumpets' by Jason Derulo.

Catch the Vodafone Big Top 40 every Sunday from 4pm and don't forget Marvin Humes will be hosting the show in 2014.
