The 'One More Night' stars say aspiring to be a great pop band is definitely not a bad thing.

Maroon 5's Adam Levine says the band are not afraid of embracing the pop side of their music and claims the band's new album 'Overexposed' was titled with that in mind.

The 'Moves Like Jagger' band released fourth album 'Overexposed' earlier this week, and say they were glad to embrace the pop sound while recording their latest studio offering over the past year.

"Aspiring to pop success is not a bad thing," Adam told the Daily Star this week. "Somebands seem to be shy about going for it.

"For a time, it became uncool to try," he explained. 'When we were making Overexposed we were embracing who we are - a band that plays pop."

The band, who scored a number one on the Vodafone Big Top 40 earlier this month with 'Payphone', went on to explain the reason behind the cryptic name of their new record.

"The title is kind if pre-emptively saying, 'Hey we're overexposed. Deal with it," The Voice US judge Adam added. "We want to have that experience, we want to have hits, we want to have songs that, internationally, people are going to know."

Earlier this week Maroon 5 unveiled the brand new music video for their next single 'One More Night', which sees Adam Levine taking on the role of a boxer struggling to juggle his career and personal life.
