Kelly Clarkson Says X Factor Winner Should 'Be Themselves'

Kelly Clarkson has offered advice to the eventual winner of this year's The X Factor.

The former American Idol winner, who performed on last night's (23^rd October) programme, said whoever wins this year's series should remain true to themselves.

"The show is your door to get into the industry and it's what you do from there," she said during an appearance on The Xtra Factor.

"As long as contestants own what they are and don't try to be something else [they will last]."

The 'Mr. Know It All' singer added that she believed this year's The X Factor winner would have to be "an entertainer as well as a singer".

Kelly's new album 'Stronger' is released today (24^th October).
