The 'Get Him To The Greek' star speaks candidly about his split from his wife.
Russell Brand has said he still feels "compassion and warmth" for his ex-wife Katy Perry.
The former couple's marriage officially ended last weekend after 14 months together.
Despite Russell filing for divorce at the end of last year, according to Californian law the couple were forced to wait six months as a cooling off period before the divorce proceedings were finalised.
Appearing on CNN's Piers Morgan Tonight, Russell expressed his sadness at their divorce, but said he was enjoying looking forward to the future.
"I think what happened at the weekend was an administrative finality, so I don't think that it makes very much difference," he said.
"Of course I still feel great feeling of compassion and warmth for Katy, but I'm very happy with my life. My life is a simple life.
Russell, who filed for divorce from the 'Teenage Dream' star in December, then went to explain his new life, adding: "I'm like a farmer whose product is a TV show instead of tomatoes."
Meanwhile, Katy recently spoke out about her rumoured relationship with Florence And The Machine guitarist Robert Ackroyd, and insisted she is not in a relationship and is "totally not looking".
