The 'Part Of Me' star's divorce from her comedian husband was finalised yesterday ending their marriage.

Katy Perry and Russell Brand's divorce was finalised yesterday (17th July) bringing the couple's 21-month long marriage to an end.

The 'Wide Awake' singer wed English comedian Russell Brand in October 2010 after meeting at an MTV event the year before, however the couple confirmed their separation in December 2011, with Russell filing for divorce on the grounds of "irreconcilable differences".

Despite Russell filing for divorce at the end of last year, according to Californian law the couple were forced to wait six months as a cooling off period before the divorce proceedings were finalised.

'Firework' star Katy opened up about her split from Russell in certain scenes from her recent concert movie Part Of Me 3D, which sees her struggling to cope away from Russell during her heavy tour schedule, and coping in the wake of their break-up.

Get Him To The Greek star Russell has also begun to discuss the relationship, with a recent interview on Ellen seeing him describe Katy as a "beautiful human being" and talking about some of the reasons behind the divorce.
