The two acts performed Beatles classics at the MusiCares Person Of The Year event last night.

Katy Perry was among the artists who lead the musical tributes to former Beatle Sir Paul McCartney at the MusiCares Person Of The Year concert in Los Angeles last night (10th February).

The 'I Kissed A Girl' star wore a flamboyant pink hat and long dress as she launched into 'Live And Let Die' with her backing band before surprising everyone and switching to 'Hey Jude'.

Coldplay also gave a rendition of a Beatles classic, as they performed 'We Can Work It Out' after declaring: "We love Paul and we're happy to be here."

The event also saw performances by Alicia Keys, Foo Fighters and Tony Bennett as well as Sir Paul himself.

He told the celebrity packed crowd at the Los Angeles Convention Center: "It's fantastic to hear all these fantastic artists doing my songs."

Meanwhile, Katy is due to perform at tomorrow's Grammy Awards ceremony and is also nominated for a total of two prizes on the night.
